2020-09-05: Santa Fe Lake as seen from Tesuque Peak
Santa Fe Lake is the source of the Santa Fe River. To protect a major source of water to the City of Santa Fe access to the lake and the valley in which the river flows is restricted. This view is from Tesuque Peak (12,040 ft, 3,670 m), one of the many peaks which surround the lake. Tesuque Peak is near the top of ski lifts of the Santa Fe Ski Resort and the location of an important electronics communication center. A pleasant way to reach the summit is through the Alamo Vista Trail which starts from the Aspen Vista Picnic Area (10,000 ft, 3,050 m) along the road to the ski resort. The trail is easy to follow but given the altitude a minimum amount of fitness is highly recommended.
