2019-05-30: Spring water gives life to the Santa Fe River
In the eastern suburbs of the City of Santa Fe the riverbanks offer a quiet and relaxing environment enjoyed by many. Spring snowmelt is the main source of water, the flow of the Santa Fe River varying significantly depending on the amount of snow which fell in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains during the preceding winter. Once the snowmelt ends, the next source of significant water is in the summer when the Monsoon Season brings heavy storms after hot clear days.
