2019-08-06: Monsoon clouds bringing rain to Santa Fe (B&W)
These Monsoon clouds were located immediately above the City of Santa Fe and promised to bring strong rains. The purple color was not artificially added but resulted from increasing the saturation of naturally occurring underlying colors. The Santa Fe Monsoon season varies from year to year. In a good year it may start in June and end in September. A wet Monsoon season is critical to the health of the Santa Fe River and to the supply of much needed water to the City of Santa Fe and those downstream who are fortunate to possess water rights.
