2021-01-27: The Sangre de Cristo Mtns seen from Santa Fe
Near the Santa Fe City Center is a high hill dominated by a white cross, the Cross of the Martyrs, which commemorates the deaths of twenty-one Franciscan friars during the Pueblo Revolt of 1680. This hill is the easiest location from which to observe the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The mountains are strikingly white against the dark blue high-altitude sky, with contrasting, orange-colored trees in the foreground.
